Don’t mess with the process.

I bought this pair of gorgeousnesses the other day, and while I don’t exactly regret doing so, I started thinking of the thought process that went through my well organised and logical mind whilst trying them on in the store.

I had silently and secretly vowed not to purchase another pair of shoes until at least next month.

Just to prove to myself I had some form of control over this fabulous addiction, you understand.

The flaw in this idea was of course, the person that was controlling the purchasing decisions was the same person with the purchasing urges.

That’s right, Occasional Reader.

It was going to be a battle of logic between two of the greatest minds this universe of one has ever known.

I didn’t stand a chance.

“Ooo, they’re pretty!”

Now, Mike. You don’t need them.

“But they’re on special!”

Regardless, they still cost money, and you don’t need them.

“But they’re Italian!”

So is ravioli. You don’t need them.

“But they’re red!”

They’re gorgeously red, I agree. You still don’t need them.

“But they’re my size!”

So is a really short giraffe. You don’t need them.

“You suck!”

I do not…

“You do! Suck!”

But I love you!

“I hate you!”

I’m sorry for upsetting you.

“Hate.”

I said I’m sorry. Here. Have a pair of pretty red Italian shoes in your size that were on special.

*Sniff* “Thank you.”

I love you.

“I love you too.”
